This experimental draft was also written to verify the feasibility of a system with my own design based on the acronym PROGRAM, which stands for:
Players:
The game can be played between two to four players.
Rules:
- Each player selects a colour from the pieces to represent them, then places four pieces to occupy a chosen “cell” (i.e. a marked 2x2 group of tiles) on one of the four corners of the board. Afterwards the players sort out how many reserve pieces they will keep with the default amount being 30, including the pieces already laid down.
- On each turn, if an occupied cell has a free tile the player is allowed to “spawn” (i.e. add) one extra piece on it. Otherwise, if a cell is full it cannot spawn any more pieces until the player has moved at least one outside of the cell.
- If or after the player has finished spawning a new piece, they are allowed four moves to allocate amongst any of their pieces. A piece may move more than once in a single turn, provided the player still have moves left in their turn.
Objectives:
- The objective of the game is to take out all of the opposing players’ pieces on the board until you are the last one left.
- Taking out an opposing piece is done by moving one of yours on the tile it occupies. However, a piece may only take out another once per turn.
- There is a maximum amount of pieces allowed for a single game. Pieces taken out are gone for good.
Goals:
- The player which has the only remaining pieces on the board wins the game. Losing players are either defeated by having all of their pieces taken out or by forfeit.
- If the latter occurs, all of that player’s pieces are removed from the board.
Rewards:
- As this is a board game there are no specific tangible rewards after winning.
Ages:
- The game is recommended to be played from the ages of six and up due to the risk of choking hazard from the pieces.
Modifications:
- Changes can be made on the game to make progress more fluid or challenging, such as (number in brackets means the number of players):
- Double Cell Setup (2) – Each player occupies two base cells on opposing corners.
- The Blob Setup (3) – The third player occupies two adjacent base cells, but cannot spawn pieces from the central cells.
- Neutral Cores (2-4) – The central cells are already occupied by cells whose sole purpose is to act as a barricade.
- King of the Core Cell (4) – Cell spawning in the base cells is disabled. This is also known as the hardcore mode.

These are still up for any changes.
